FROM SKINNY TO FAT TO FINALLY HAPPY WITH MY BODY

When I started my fitness journey, I weighed 140 lbs and had no idea what I was doing. I remember telling my mom that I wanted my arms to fill out the sleeves of my shirts. Little did I know that I would reach that goal of filling out my sleeves…but in the wrong way. I got fat. 208 lbs fat.  Yup, I ballooned up 68 lbs. I was never consistent with exercising, the exercises I did were not productive, and I had no clue what nutrition was. The worst of all, I hated the way I looked and I had no confidence. I followed all kinds of fad diets and workouts. I thought I was eating “healthy”. I’d lose a little weight and then gain even more back.

 

Then I decided to learn how the body really works.

That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands and learn the truth about fitness and health. I stopped listening to the fitness mainstream and all the unfounded B.S. they use to simply market crap products. I learned how the body actually works and built my own program. My hard work paid off.

 

I lost about 40 lbs of fat and packed on 28 lbs of muscle. I did all of this while eating more foods you would consider “unhealthy” and enjoying more drinks with my friends.

 

During this time, I saw all of these “tips” that fitness experts kept throwing around—like “Follow this special diet”, “Stop drinking alcohol”, “Drink this protein shake” and “Do this cleanse” —I realized most of it was almost impossible to follow for the normal person. I realized the experts loved to tell people what to do…but most of it was B.S. built on pseudoscience used to get the uneducated masses to buy their overpriced supplements or programs with unrealistic promises.

 

Be honest:

 

  • Almost nobody wants to spend all their time in the gym.
  • Almost nobody wants to avoid foods they love.
  • Who wants to be told what they CAN’T eat or drink—no beer, no wine, no cake, no ice cream?

 

Instead of saying “no” to eating and drinking things I loved, I wanted to say YES. I knew there was a better way to live a fit life—if we could focus on what actually works. After all life should be enjoyed. It’s not enjoyable to be told to avoid the things you love. That only sets you up for failure.

 

Since then, I’ve been testing and sharing my findings with the world via my website.
